Mille Crepe

After learning about the existence of the Mille Crepe from Yumeiro Patissiere (see two posts below), I googled and tried the first recipe that appeared.

I liked the recipe because it was so detailed and easy to follow. The only thing you need is stamina! haha

I made the crepe batter and vanilla pastry cream on the first day, then left it in the fridge to set overnight. On the second day, I made the crepes painstakingly one by one.. this was the hardest part! Have to make at least 20 plus crepes!

While waiting for the crepes to cool, I folded in the other half of the cream mixture into the now hardened vanilla pastry cream. Using a cooling rack to stack up my crepe cake, I layered crepe by crepe, with a layer of cream between each crepe.

The result - awesome mille crepe cake!!! received the *thumbs up* from my family and friends :)

I'm grateful for this time where i can experiment lotsa recipes!! praise God! i think my sis benefits the most from this hahaha. since i have more time on my hands too, i must strive to spend more time with God *yossha!*

anyway, just a random thought ... would you like to have them as your colleagues? ;)

the Japanese are so admirable!!

Well, i'm really glad that the Johnny's Family Club issued an official statement saying that everyone is safe.

What i would like to say is how impressed i am with the Japanese people!!! They really rise up above the adversity and display kindness, generosity and consideration ^_^

I read some of the twitter posts of the Japanese and here are some of the highlights:

- people only buy what they need from supermarkets/convenience stores and leave stock behind for others to buy

- at supermarkets/convenience stores, they pick up stock from the floor due to the earthquake, place them back on their shelves and quietly queue at the cashiers for their turn

- some give out free food/drinks from their stores/homes to people

- some open up their stores/offices for people to use their bathrooms or to rest

- even at a congested intersection, people give way with a smile and a wave, with no horning or beeping, only the occasional beep to thank the person for giving way

- the youth give away their money to donation boxes, giving up on booze and games

- they queue up in an orderly manner to get onto the congested trains

- private cars driving by congested train stations offer rides to people heading the same way

etc etc etc...

it makes me ashamed of my own country... will we be able to react in such a way?

Aoi Bench Single - TegoMass

I just heard all the songs in the single today ...

It's quite sad that there is only one B-side song together with the single .. I mean, its TegoMass.. and they CAN sing!! usually there are at least 2 to 3 B-side songs accompanying the single..

That aside, i liked the cover single Aoi Bench! not being biased, but i think TegoMass sings better than Sasuke (oops i said it :X) ... but the harmony is not easy! i shall have to learn it real well!!

BUT! the funny thing is, i liked the Acoustic version MUCH better... i have no idea why. i guess it showcases their voices more and i like the simplicity of the track :)

AND of course, Sotsugyo Album (Graduation Album) was soooooooo good. Surprisingly, the song had no harmony whatsoever.. it surprised me because TegoMass specializes in harmonies hehe. but it is such a touching song!! i am contemplating on using this song to make a video to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of knowing my dearest sistas!!

hmmm.. now i just have to figure out how to use windows movie maker ...

thank God for good looking men who can sing so well!! ^_^
