Christmas and 2009 approaching soon ...

Howdy mates! How's the wind in the sails?

Hahaha ok i shall desist LOL

Anyway, Christmas is approaching in 5 days, and the year 2009 will arrive in 11 days! Soooooo exciting!

Just like to say, the true meaning of Christmas is to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and His precious gift of salvation, grace, forgiveness, hope, joy etc etc ... to the world! For each and everyone one of you :)

So please dun forget the true meaning of Christmas! Such as embracing the world's marketing strategy of santa claus (sorry kiddies, but he does not exist and his fictional) ... And celebrate with me the joy of the Christmas season!!

And fast approaching on the heels of Christmas is the new year!! woohoo! A new year, meaning new breakthroughs! I pray that everyone has breakthroughs in their families, friends, work, school, relationships and everything in their personal lives.

Let's start our new year with a new slate and a fresh state of mind! Always remember that the pen (or any writing utensil you like) is in your own hand for the new blank page! ... Those who are not very "litty", I just mean the choices and decisions you make would determine the direction of your life!

So thank You Lord for this wonderful year of 2008, with its ups and downs, but with You never leaving my side. May we draw closer and fall deeper in love with Him this coming new year!

~ For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future ~ Jeremiah 29:11 Amen!!

我一直都在

My dad heard about my interest in songwriting and of the two songs i wrote and posted on my blog... He encouraged me and suggested that i write a song in mandarin.

I thought, why not? i love chinese songs too :)

So whilst I am having the flu right now, the Lord gave me this song last night when i could not sleep ... It shows the heartbeat of our heavenly Father :)

我一直都在 Copyright: Dawn Ang ©

July 2011 - I noticed that there have been an increasing number of people viewing this post ... if this song has ministered to you, touched you or spoke to you in some way, feel free to drop me a comment at sizqaver@gmail.com :)

Bendemeer Hawker Centre

I highly recommend this hawker centre at 31 & 32 Bendemeer road. (XQ, its just down the road from your house!)

The place is not overly crowded and you can get seats very easily even during the lunch hour. As for the food ... cheap and delicious!!!

My dad loves the chicken rice stall in the second lane, which only opens after 12pm. You get a good portion of chicken with very fragrant rice (comes with soup too i think) for only $2.00!!

Next to the chicken rice stall is my grandfather's favourite curry rice stall. He always orders the curry beef cubes dish because the beef is extremely tender *yumz*

Next to the curry rice stall is a soybean/grass jelly drink stall. I tried the soybean curd (tau hui) because i wasn't full and woohoo! Its solid tau hui and it tastes so good! (Not those milky no quality ones if you are a tau hui partaker LOL) And the syrup wasn't too sweet (which turns me off) ... After i emptied the bowl, this was my reaction - *floats* haha

Opposite the tau hui stall is a stall that sells mee siam ... which as you might have expected, is magnificent. you can't miss it, there's always a queue there :) Best mee siam i've eaten!

In the next lane, there is a prawn noodle store which i just tried today. The broth is thicker than normal prawn noodle broths (the normal ones are too bland). The prawns and meat are very fresh too! yumz yumz

In the same lane is the Amigo stall selling fishball noodles. Order their mee pok noodles dry with a little chilli and fishball soup at the side. lovely, people, just lovely :)

After a nice lunch/dinner, those who enjoy drinking coffee or tea ... My dad (the teh-si expert), recommends the drinks stall just next to the chain of chickenrice/curryrice/tauhui stalls :)

Thank You Lord for letting us find this place! Enjoy!

Classical Music ...

Well .. I have always appreciated classical music, especially during the days of my 'O' levels haha. Cause its proven that when listening to classical music, your brain cells are stimulated and you can study alot better LOL.

But I confessed I have been out of touch for a few years ...

Thank the Lord for Nodame Cantabile though! I fell in love with classical music all over again! The music just got to me haha. Poring over a score, practising frequently with lotsa patience and perseverance, tinkling or banging on the ivory keys etc etc ...

And most importantly, the end product of the song being played according to what the composer wants ... and i must stress - WITHOUT desecrating the piece and causing the composer to turn in his grave *looks pointedly at sis*

Anyway, I have mastered the first movement of M.Clementi's piano sonatina Op.36 No.6! It is a lovely piece that is joyful, bouncy and lively - something i really like :) I just need to work on my dynamics hee hee

Now I am attempting Mozart's Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Twelve Variations ... which seems simple but requires a lot of technique ...

And maybe hopefully one day i can play with my sis in a place that has 2 pianos - Mozart's Piano Sonata for 2 in D Major.

Thank you Lord for the music, the songs i'm singing. Thanks for all the joy they're bringing. Who can live without it, i ask in all honesty! Without a song or a dance, what are we? So I say thank you Lord for the music, for giving it to me!! *huggiez*

To wrap it all up ... minNA-san, ganBAtte KUdasai! (say it with a caucasian accent)

Nodame Cantabile

I highly recommend everyone to watch this show! I personally prefer the live action drama, but if you prefer anime then go ahead too! Its a super hilarious, fun-loving, music related show :)

Its a Japanese drama/anime about Nodame and Chiaki-senpai. Nodame is a talented pianist, while Chiaki is a talented pianist/violinist/conductor hehe ... Nodame is extremely weird and eccentric, while Chiaki is a rich handsome guy with a bit of an arrogant character. Watch how their love blossoms and the splendid music the show produces!

I would recommend the live drama because real people acting can portray the feelings better ... And also because the live drama has an incentive in the form of Chiaki-senpai ...

New experience ...

New food experience to report! haha

Yesterday was a wonderful day spent with the Choo family, very long never see them, let alone hang out with them :) Although poor Luke was knocked out from his flu medicine poor boy... Luke get well asap and all the best for your 'O' levels!!!

We met for lunch ... and boy what a lunch! First we had fish head curry at Siglap. oooh sedap, very long never eat already so shiok! Then we went to Kiliney Kopitiam to have drinks ... where Uncle Seow Patt went to buy his and dad's favourite Indian food for me to try.

It's called Vadai (pronounced ve-day and not va-die) hmm how to describe ... its like a fried cracker with stuff inside and small prawns on top. And you eat it with raw green chilli with each bite!! woohoo! Almost died when i bit on a chilli seed, but other than that it was delicious and a wonderful experience for me :) Really thankful for the time of great fellowship together, I enjoyed myself tremendously!!

Since I came back I have been "sua-ku-ly" trying new food ... because I did not use to be so adventurous when I was younger. Probably when I was a little tot, my parents did let me try, but I was too young to remember ... So I have tried rambutan (lovely!) and mangosteen (yumz!) ... durian of course I remember, that fruit once you try I think you will remember the taste and smell until the day you see the Lord haha! I like durian though, just not too much cause its so heaty!

But apparently I need to try harder cause I haven't tried so much stuff! like murtabak, roti john, etc etc etc. People are so shocked when I ask "whats that" haha ... so I need to work harder in becoming a full fledged singaporean! yosh!!

End of school semester ...

*sighz* Last week was my last day of school for this semester ... The next semester starts in March because from Nov to Feb is the internship period - which I am exempted from yahoo!

Soooooo ... I was a bit sad at the last day of school. Told classmates "see you next year!" sounded so sad to me! But at least still can meet up with pearlin melissa etc... Oooh and congrats Melissa on your internship placement!! Prayers move mountains! Romans 8:28 yah!!

Whats left is just this really huge project for my events module ... its not difficult, its actually very simple ... But very very VERY tedious. You literally need to sit down for hours over a span of few days to slowly complete it. Cause there's so much stuff to do! Gantt charts, running sheets, cue sheets, loadsa maps, wordy stuff etc etc etc

Lord, help me!

Last day at work

I am writing this in the office and it is officially my last day at work ... YAY!! *throws confetti on self*

I am really happy, like joyful to be rid of all the stress and workload... but yet, I will miss the lovely colleagues here that I have befriended and come to love! Took some photos with them which was so bittersweet and hilarious haha.

Thank You Lord for this opportunity to work in such a nice environment with such nice people. Thank You for letting me learn so much and gain so much experience. Lord, bless these people that You love more than me and bring the pre-believers to You by cultivating the seeds that I have sown.

Bye bye!! Zai Jian!! Sayonara!! Au revoire!! Ciao!! (did i spell these correctly hmmm)

Back from UK

I have been neglecting this blog for 3 months! bad dawn!

Haha anyway, went to the UK and now I am BACK!! The trip was awesome, great, magnificent, splendid, wonderful, amazing and all the nice adjectives that exists. Really thank the Lord for this opportunity to go there, feel really blessed to experience it *sniff* Saw lotsa beautiful God's creation, ate lotsa good food, met lotsa ppl (and some shuai ges *wink*) and gotta spend quality time with the family over there...

Too busy at work to update blog, so naturally too busy to upload photos! gah! I promise I will try! Anyway I tendered my resignation, but now they trying to negotiate to get me to work half day or few days a week. we shall see, all in the Lord's hands!

Anyway, two movies that I wanna watch is Mamma Mia! and The Buttefly Lovers which stars Charlene Choi, Wu Zun and Hu Ge ... good movie to watch for eye candy *drools* haha. Apparently its a remake and its their later lives (where there is no such thing in life by the way - one life only ppl!) ... so maybe its not the sad ending of Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai!

Apology

Ok everybody, please realize how imperfect and ungrateful a child I am. Really only the Lord can save me!

MAMA!! SORRY!!!

Totally forgot to thank my mum in my birthday post (see below) What kind of unfilial daughter right? So disgusted at myself, mama and Jesus, please forgive me.

FORGIVE ME!!

And thank you mama for the lovely paper card and e card. And the parcel of presents for my birthday which was sent like WAY before my birthday. For all the effort put in to get my presents and send it across the Pacific Ocean and South China Sea and Malacca Straits etc etc.

And for the heart and mind and soul put into everything she does for me, regardless of whether it is my birthday or not.

But most importantly, for giving birth to me and going through all the labour pains ... and waking up at dawn to go to the hospital (thats where my name came about!). Because the Lord set the date and mama gave birth to me, thats why i have a birthday. So really thank you thank you thank you mama ... for everything :)

You're everything, everything to me

"Where would I be if You have not been by my side
How could I rise to meet the morning of the day?
Your tender mercies always calling from behind
At times I could not see You
Even though You were close by
Lord You are good
You are good and your mercies forever endure ...."

To quote Kungfu Panda,
"The past is history
Tomorrow's a mystery
Today's a gift

Exercise - Chapter 1

Hello!!

This series would be according to the book "The Busy Girl's Guide to Looking Great!!" by Caroline Jones. I took some notes from her very useful book and thought that I should share some of the tips with you ladies!!!

Chapter 1

How to get started
~ Plan ahead
~ Fill in exercise slots into your schedule

Reward yourself
~ Choose things that are NOT food based
~ E.g. A new top, read a book, new pair of heels, mask your face, watch drama serial

Benefits
1. More confidence about body and image
2. Reduced stress levels
3. Improved sleep quality
4. Happier and less likely to suffer depression
5. Increased energy levels
6. Brain sharper and faster working
7. Good for your health

Myths that are so wrong wrong wrong!!
X Eat as much as you like if you workout
X Exercise should cause physical pain because no pain, no gain
X Muscle weighs more than fats

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hope that helps with you getting started on your exercise schedule!
And remember, determination, diligence and perseverance is the key!
Pastor preached today ... strive to be like the faithful church of Philadelphia!
"To the angel of the church in Philadelphia write:
These are the words of him who is holy and true
Who holds the key of David.
What he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open.
I know your deeds.
See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.
I know that you have little strength,
yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.
I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan,
who claim to be Jews though they are not, but are liars
—I will make them come and fall down at your feet
And acknowledge that I have loved you.
Since you have kept my command to endure patiently,
I will also keep you from the hour of trial
That is going to come upon the whole world
To test those who live on the earth.
I am coming soon.
Hold on to what you have, so that no one will take your crown.
Him who overcomes I will make a pillar in the temple of my God.
Never again will he leave it.
I will write on him the name of my God
And the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem,
Which is coming down out of heaven from my God;
And I will also write on him my new name.
He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.
Flower Arrangements - Chapter 1
Hey peeps! Well since my blog is usually viewed by the ladies, I decided to start some self improvement posts for everyone! Dun worry I would still have snippets of "what is going on in my life" posts :)
I have been reading up on books from the National Library ... and I took some notes and pics of different topics! I will start a series of mini courses on Flower Arrangements, Exercise, Diet and Fashion :) Hope everyone would enjoy the mini courses lotz lotz and learn something!
Today's post shall be on the series of Flower Arrangements, from the small book "101 Flower Arrangements: Stylish Home Ideas" by Julie Savill. All her ideas are very contemporary and suitable for homes or offices, they are extremely easy to attempt too!
Chapter 1 - Fruit Cocktail
~ Fresh colourful summer centrepieces with citrus zest ~
You will need:
§ 1 Shallow glass bowl
§ 1 Orange
§ 1 Lemon
§ 1 Lime
§ 3-5 Gerbera Daisies (depending on size of bowl)
*available colours: red, yellow, dark pink, light pink, orange, purple*
§ Few sprigs of mint leaves (optional)
Steps:
§ Fill half of the shallow glass bowl with water
§ Slice the orange, lemon and lime into halves
§ Float the orange, lemon and lime in the water - with the cut side facing up
§ Snip the stalks of the Gerbera Daisies off near the flower heads
§ Float the Gerbera Daisies flower heads interspersed/in between the orange, lemon and lime
§ Add the sprigs of mint leaves for an extra scent
See photo below for end product!!
Verse of the day:
"Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as braided hair and the wearing of gold jewelry and fine clothes.
Instead, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God's sight.
For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to make themselves beautiful."
~1 Peter 3: 3-5~
Tadaima!!
I am BAAAACCCKKK people!!
Thailand was awesome. Wanna really thank the Lord for His protection and journey mercies!!
And yes to answer the first question that everybody asks haha. I did shop ALOT. But everything was really cheap and I got some nice stuff too! We went to MBK, Chatuchak and Platinum Plaza for shopping. Shopping havens i tell ya!
I bought 4 tops, 2 dresses, 3 shorts, 3 three quarter pants, 3 bags, 1 wallet, 1 skirt, 3 racerbacks, 1 spaghetti strap, 1 tube, 3 belts, 2 pairs of earrings, 4 t-shirts, 1 cardigan, 1 slippers, 4 pairs of shoes ... yah I think thats all lah hee hee
I am really happy about the trip. Very contented and satisfied! I have officially enough clothes and no more shopping for clothes! Hahaha. although i still need to get a watch and my wedges hee hee cannot find over there.
We stayed at Asia Hotel which was really good because there was the sky train right at the second floor!! so convenient! And it was linked with the MRT too, which we only took once to the overpriced Night Bazaar. The range of the sky train price was like 15 to 35 baht. As compared to taking taxi rightz.... with all the traffic jams and the swindler drivers who off their meters to bargain the price with you ...
And we saved a lot on food too! We ate mostly at the small eateries or food court around the shopping areas ... Except for the really good japanese buffet at 600 over baht, we spent around 30 baht for each meal only. On stuff like pad thai, fried rice, mango sticky rice, noodles, chicken rice etc etc. Oh and we ate at the MK restaurant which had steamboat at 150 baht each *droolz*
The taxi ride to the hotel was so scary cause the driver was quite reckless and there was a near accident. Like a small bang. I was soooo scared from the previous accidents trauma that I didn't even realiza i started mini hyperventilating ... till my sis told me to relax and not breathe so hard hahahahaha. I was praying like crazy.
Then the plane ride back was horrendous when we just took off and we were in the clouds. My sis and I were praying fervently. The turbulence was so bad that the guy in my row said "wah! like escape theme park roller coaster" hahaha. I was making lotsa noises whenever there were dips and my stomach flopped. till I had to cover my mouth from all the mini screams. I think the two guys beside me had a good "ahm qio" LOL
So really thank the Lord for protecting all of us on all our different journies on different forms of transportations ... and also all our walking to different places, even at night and just being with us every step of the way! We even had a mini service in our hotel room together. Short time of worship using the songs on our handphones ... followed by a short bible study sharing session! The presence of the Lord was so strong after that! :)
Also wanna thank Him for giving me self control and not go crazy spending so much haha. I actually have $160 sing left from the budget i brought there. Somemore I spent quite a bit on presents for people. So happy :)
I mean the Bible said that we should purchase material goods with the mindset that we will not possess them forever! The stuff is really nice, but they are just stuff and they can rot or collect dust. And when we die we can't bring it with us! As Job says "Naked I come, naked I depart!", it really struck me this verse. So I wanna strive to be Christ's ambassador everyday and store my treasures in Heaven!!!
My God is a good God! He supplies all of my needs!!
Glad to be back! Luv you all!
Accident ...
Well firstly, I really really really want to thank the Lord for sustaining my life and giving me another chance in life. I met with a car accident today while I was taking a cab down to city hall. I dunno if it was the truck in front that braked suddenly, or whether my cab was driving too fast and thus didn't manage to break in time.
Suffice to say, the front of the cab was smashed in half and the impact was extremely great. As a passenger seating in the cab (even though I was in the back seat), the jolt was hard enough to throw my whole weight against my locked seat belt.
I admit I was traumatised after the accident ... I mean who won't be right. My heart was thumping so fast. I even had wobbly legs whilst exiting the cab and walking to the mrt station. Not to mention trembling fingers trying to grasp for my wallet to enter the station. And later rummage desperately for my ipod for some comforting soothing music.
Although I dun mind going to heaven and meeting my dearest Lord Jesus, I am thankful for his protection!
To all my family and friends, I just wanna take this moment to say "I really love all of you!!" *hugz*
P.S. This pic is for mum in my new turqouise blouse!
Food Hotel Asia
Went to the Food Hotel Asia 2008 at Expo today! It was really nice of Pearlin's chef to give Pearlin some tickets and really kind of Pearlin to give us the tickets too! One ticket costs $80!!! *faints*
Anyway, i enjoyed myself at the exhibition :)
First, we went to the BEAUTIFUL cakes decor competition. And it was REALLy beautiful! Everything was so pretty, with different designs! And get this, everything ... i mean EVERYTHING ... is totally edible. *GASP!!*
Next, we all had lunch with Pearlin's chef and her colleague. Us meaning Kezia, Mark, Pearlin, Melissa and I haha! We ate at a quaint little la mian cafe with super diluted drinks haha.
Then Melissa, Kezia and I headed to the different halls to look around. I sampled the roast beef, which was cooked perfectly and it just melted in my mouth *gaaaaaah* Melissa tried the teriyaki chicken at the Japan counter which she said was a little salty haha. Then Melissa and I tried a gelato type of ice cream which was really good too! i ordered the cookies and cream one. Then Kezia went gaga over the wine section haha. Later Kezia and I tried a Japanese cocktail which was so good! We took the white grape peach flavour, and it was not too sweet and the alcohol taste was not strong at all. I think the ladies would love it :)
Below are links to all the pictures in my photobucket. Enjoy! And remember the old rule people, "Right click and save" hee hee
tum ti tum chum chum
Hey friends! tomodachi!
How is everyone doing? I know lotsa uni people are currently having their exams period, so study hard and jia you!! you can do it!! It will be over soon!! ganbatte kudasai!!
As for the others, whether work or school ... Jia you too!!
I am currently still looking for a job LOL. I quit the admin job which i got, cause it was oh so totally horribly boring. lock me up in a room with no human interaction and frowning down at endless paperwork just drives me up the wall ... drives me crazy, insane and whatever adjective you can find haha!
And to quote my fellow classmates, we hospitality people need human interactions and we are SO not suited for admin jobs. I used to disagree with them and say "admin only what, very easy to do lah!" Yeah i told every single one of them after i quit my job that i admit i am wrong and that i officially join the "hospitality people can't do admin jobs club" hahahahaha
Anyway, I really enjoyed the Planetshakers concert that Rachel invited me to last week! Although i jumped for two hours and had to go for Miracle Service to pray for strained leg muscles hahaha. But praise the Lord i got healed! went up to testify too! Mel helped me to record teehee, but i was really nervous in front of the camera hee hee
Dawn over and out!
Holidays!!
Ah ... finally ... holidays for me!! well its only one week ... but its enough to sing ...
OH its a jolly holiday with dawnee!!
Dawnee makes the sun shines bright!!
When dawnee holds your hand
Your feel so grand!
You heart starts beating like a big brass band!
OH its a jolly holiday with dawnee!
No wonder that is dawnee that we love!!!
Wahahahahahaha ok that was so super lame and thick skin. But it was fun! From the Mary poppins movie. i was skipping and singing it yesterday after school ... Melissa and Kezia went into "ho-eee!?" and then "diao" mode hahaha
Anyway, i am hoping to enjoy my holidays with some time to myself finally! Rest and Relaxation here i come!!
不用再问为什么
不用再说些什么
了了懂了
我们都一直爱着
不用再担心什么
不用再害怕什么
累了睡了
牵着手一起入梦了
I really like this song by Tank!! Its a rather "genki" kinda song! YOSH!
Minna-san Ganbatte Kudasai!!!
It means ... Everyone "jia you!" and "you can do it!" and "all the best!"
Sometimes life gets quite taxing, tiring or wearing you down. But take heart! In the twinkling of any eye! We shall be raptured to be with the Lord anytime!
And also ... always remember this! "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened. And I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and my burden is light."
What a friend we have in Jesus! Are you weak or heavy laden? Cumbered with a load of care? Take it to the Lord in prayer!!!
It is kinda the turning point in my life now ... Moving on in life in a few aspects in my life! Really thank God my parents saga will be coming to an end very soon and we can all move on! And also other areas in life too! Yooooossshhh! Genki desu ne!
A really good song that speaks to me and puts my perspective of life right ... Please read the lyrics carefully and with an open heart!
Let my walk speak loud
And my words be true
Let my life be whole
With my eyes on you
Lord I'm stepping out
From the comfort zone
Letting go of me
Holding onto You
Freedom comes
When I call You Lord
You are Lord my God
(Chorus)
You are the centre of it all
The universe declares in awe
Your Majesty, I surrender all
I make you the centre of my life
Lord, I respond with all I am
You placed in me the song of heavens melody
Your Majesty, I live to sing Your song
I have found Your peace
It replaces any fear
You have done it all
I can trust in you
So I'm stepping out
From the comfort zone
Letting go of me
Holding onto you
Freedom comes
When I call You Lord
You are Lord my God (Chorus)
(Bridge)
This is your song not mine
It is your song that bring healing to this land
This is your song not mine
It is your song that brings freedom
Freedom comes
When I call You Lord
You are Lord my God (Chorus)
Life is good!
Well well! How is everyone? Good i hope!
I have not been faithfully updating my blog haha. But I'm trying to update it at least once a month!!
Basically the highlights for last month was Chinese New Year and my job at the Singapore Airshow which was really great! Pictures in my facebook album for both events hehehe lazy to post here LOL.
Now I have two classes a week only, so I am currently scouting for a job. Pray for me! So far I have applied for a few so we shall see :)
I watched the movie The Leap Years!! I thought it was so totally awesome. It was sweet, drama, touching and nice all at the same time. I was laughing one moment and sobbing the next. LOL recommended to watch!
A really nice song by Hagen Tan:
只要有你我就会快乐
只要有你我不会伤心
我的上帝你会是我的决定
我只想仰望你一个
只要有你我不会放弃
只要有你我会爱着你
只要有你的爱我会走下去
你会是我心中的上帝
唯一的上帝
Chinese New Year rocks!!
Hello!
How is everyone's Chinese New Year going? Its gonna be over soon! *sobz*
Anyway, even though Pearlin and Melissa were saying today that this year's "qi fen" or festive season for Chinese New Year and Valentine's Day is not good ... To someone who has been away for 2 years I think its EXTREMELY good hahahahaha! I guess going overseas lets you appreciate better and be contented with the little we have ... which is actually alot!! :)
Below are some pics of my reunion dinner with my family. First Lo Hei!! Followed by steamboat spread haha!
The first day of Chinese New Year was spent with family - photos in Melody's camera
The second day was spent at the Choo's place, playing with Tina, chatting with Laura, Uncle Seow Patt and Auntie Karen ... Then followed by a gathering at grandmother's place, where I found out some really distant relatives whom I never knew existed hahahaha ... Then we went to Uncle Pong Huat, Auntie Yvonne and Denise place to chat and play with their SIX dogs!! - Again all of the above photos in Melody's camera
Third day was my first time serving at Miracle Service at the counter! It was so exciting and I loved the experience - Photos in Mel's cammie.
Fourth day serving at the counter again woohoo! And I went for Double Feed ... So basically I learnt how to be a delight to my parents and about a God designed marriage :)
Fifth day was Events Exam, really thank the Lord the questions were exactly the same as the past paper that I studied!! Caught Apel and Ryan at Bugis haha, went with Pearlin to tcc followed by Japanese class.
Seventh day went "Bai Nian" with Yiling, Jia Shin and Xiao Qi. It was SOO fun! We took a photo at each of our houses ... haven't load up - in my camera haha. First they came to my house, talked for a long time ... Followed by Jia Shin's house where her mum cooked lunch for us - fried bee hoon, broccoli and fried fish - which was sooooooo good! Then we went to Yiling's house to eat somemore and drink vodka with sprite which i personally didn't like, prefer to go with juice haha. I popped out to go for Japanese class (where Pearlin gaped at my bright colourful dress). Then went to Xiao Qi's house where her mum cooked dinner for us - White carrot soup, broccoli, egg with prawns, lettuce with abalone, steamed fish - which was again sooooooo good!
And now today is Valentine's Day!! Happy V-day everyone!! In Canada, v-day was for everyone and not only couples. So I spend a wonderful day today with my family for lunch, went to Melissa's house for NPB and chatting, making a fool of ourselves with her huge teddy bears haha, trying to tune her guitar, and vandalising her bear! Later will be dinner at grandmother's house, followed by supper with XQ at bedok 85 followed by sleepover!
Really thank the Lord for this wonderful CNY and valentine's day! Love my family and friends! Those who are anti-V day people *stares pointedly* you know who you are haha! Appreciate the people around you!!!
*hugz to all*
CNY approaching soon!!
Alright people!! Pull up your socks, fold up your sleeves and get to work!! Its time for major springcleaning before Chinese New Year!! *hears mumbling and groaning*
Hahahahaha oh well, its nice to see the house spick and span once a year LOL! I can't wait for Chinese New Year, like seriously. Its been 2 years since I had a decent CNY. Let alone a reunion dinner with family, eating cny goodies and collecting the much awaited hongbaos. Or even just the festive mood everywhere, cny music, cny decorations and cny merchandise! RED RED RED!!
Somehow, since I came back, I've been looking forward to my first everything in 2 years haha. First Christmas, then New Year, now its Chinese New Year. Its so exciting!! Like OOOOOooooohhhh! Can't contain it! *dances around*
I guess this childlike innocence and expectation is quite rare over here in Singapore, cause everyone around me thinks the squirrels must be missing a nut in their winter store hahahaha!
Anyway, I wanna thank the Lord for this opportunity to spend time with family members over CNY, for the pending dinner and visitations, which would be extremely lovely. And all of my dear friends not to forget! This year would be the first time we will be going to each others' house for visitations woohoo! Both my best sec sch and uni frens. I still think its so totally awesome :)
Which means ... I so better start studying for my exams which are immediately after the cny celebrations!! Lord, please give me diligence and perseverance!! pwease pwease
Are You Listening?
Listen to the Word
And do what it says
Listen to His voice
Like one being taught
You will be blessed in what you do
For the Lord says
If you listen, I know you
And you will follow me
I give you eternal life
And you shall never perish
I am speaking, are you listening?
Listen to His advice
Let it speak to your heart
Listen to His instructions
And you will be wise
He wants to have a relationship with you
Let the Spirit speak
To the core of your being
Filling that deep place within you
That no one else can reach ...
It is time ...
As the last 6 months of my teen life come to a close, all the looming independence and responsibilities surface ...
Ok that sounded depressing haha! Well it actually means I will turn two decades this June and adulthood is approaching ... like hot on my heels! Time to get job, be independent in every aspect and think wisely ...
I went for a job interview on Tuesday regarding the upcoming Singapore Airshow in February and praise the Lord I got the job! After a half an hour stressful interview haha but I'm glad I got the job ... it would be a really good exposure and experience for me.
It would be my first job in Singapore and it is related to my course of events management too! I would be one of the exhibitor personnel and its of course everything to do with customer service ... So my past hospitality work experience at a hotel and restaurant really helped. Its gonna be really professional, like all blazers-formal blouses-pants kinda professional haha.
Yea so anyway ... it is time for me to venture out into the working world, in Singapore that is ... I hope I would be able to work part time together with my schooling for this year. So i can earn money for the Thailand trip with Mel and friends, Taiwan trip with Melissa, Pearlin, Michelle, UK/France/Jersey trip for Sumei's wedding and finally Canada trip by myself to visit friends and family. As you can see ... most of my hard work and money will be flying away through this channel haha!
But anyway, still young! must travel and see the world! Even if i work part time and use my money on this i am perfectly alright with it. But of course must still save. Travel people! cause next time married have kids or work full time very hard to travel! Woohoo!
New Year Resolutions ...
Hey people!!
Pray tell, what are all your new year resolutions? I have heard from some of you all and they are really inspiring!!
I pray that everyone gets to fulfill their resolutions! Determination and Perseverance is the key people!
Praise the Lord! I received another exemption for a course in my module! Which is a course i am taking this semester regarding Conventions. There is a 3000 words proposal, a presentation which has to be video taped with no errors and a 35% exam at the end! So I really thank the Lord that I have this big burden of my shoulders! *whew*
Well ... I have only 2 courses this semester, followed by another two next semester, and just one the next next semester. So now i am looking and praying for a part time job. Pray with me k!!
Today's message by pastor is about Eternity!! Always keep your eyes on eternity and look towards the Rapture! *sighs happily* this thought always lifts my spirit up *dances around* 1 Corinthians 15 : 50-58!!
